From the Archives: Exegetical Foundations for Divine Plenitude

What does Scripture mean when it speaks of God as the one from whom, through whom, and to whom are all things? Divine plenitude names the inexhaustible fullness of God’s life. God does not create, give, love, or save because he lacks something that creatures supply. He gives from fullness. This earlier essay returns to the biblical foundations for that claim, tracing how Scripture presents God as the living source of every creaturely good while remaining infinitely full in himself. Creation and redemption therefore reveal not divine need, but divine abundance.
