The priesthood of Christ is not merely one image among many for salvation. Hebrews presents it as essential to understanding who Jesus is, what his sacrifice accomplished, and why Christians may draw near to God with confidence. This earlier essay follows the biblical movement from the Day of Atonement to Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice and continuing heavenly ministry.
