The Gospel Preacher

·

·

1–2 minutes

He left his Heavenly throne and had nowhere to lay his head,
he was the Gospel preacher.

His family rejected him and the crowds turned away,
he was the Gospel preacher.

He was scolded for and exhausted from helping the helpless, the sick, the outcast, and the sinner,
he was the Gospel preacher.

His closest friends misunderstood him, denied him, and betrayed him,
he was the Gospel preacher.

His life and message was loved by few,
he was the Gospel preacher.

His word gave hope to the hopeless and echoes through the centuries,
he was was the Gospel preacher

He lived only to give his life,
he was the Gospel preacher.

He defeated the haunting power of the grave and reigns in Heaven’s unfading glory,
he was the Gospel preacher.

His promise is my hope,
his Heaven my home,
his cross my pulpit,
his life my message,
his mission my own,
because he was the Gospel Preacher.
